Looking to rent a lifeboat or for a well-trained rescue team that can operated from the water? We rent lifeboats, MOB boats and standby boats together with crew to assist with water rescue operations. The lifeboat crew will be trained and well equipped to rescue people from the water and provide first aid in emergencies. Please get in touch to discuss the options. We would be happy to advise on the most suitable vessel for you, based on our extensive experience. We are also happy to advise on how to prevent drowning while carrying out work on water.

A lifeboat, MOB (man overboard) boat or standby boat is available for rental for work near, above or from the water. Where there is an (elevated) risk of drowning, appropriate management measures are essential. One of these measures is a lifeboat.

What is a lifeboat?

A lifeboat or rescue boat is usually a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) and is used worldwide for sea rescue operations – from the British RNLI to the South African NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute). Our lifeboats are also RIBs. In some cases, we use a landing craft for deployment as a standby boat. With a lowering ramp at the front, these vessels are ideally configured for rescue operations.

Lifeboat crew

The lifeboat crew is also known as a water rescue team. They have the training, knowledge and experience to undertake rescue operations from the water. They also have the equipment needed to rescue people in need and to provide immediate first aid. One of the members of the crew will also be the boat’s skipper.

How is a lifeboat equipped?

The lifeboat will be well equipped with all equipment needed to undertake rescue operations and to provide first aid. Man-overboard situations require specific care, for which our lifeboats are properly equipped. On-board equipment includes:

Comprehensive first aid kit
Rescue board
Lifeline
AED (automatic external defibrillator)

Rent a SOLAS MOB

A SOLAS lifeboat or MOB is compulsory on board sea-going vessels. Our fleet includes several lifeboats that can be used for SOLAS applications.
